Warehouse Burned at Snow Hill

Chief James M. Wilson, of Snow Hill, Md., had a difficult job to handle recently when fire started in Perdue’s garage and rapidly spread to the Perdue warehouse. An adjoining building, used as a blacksmith and wheelwright shop was also burned and another adjoining building, constructed of brick, and occupied by a hardware company, was on fire several times, but the firemen were able to save it from much damage. A frame barn and stables in the rear of the brick building were destroyed, the flames being stopped there. The total damage was estimated at $25,000. Several automobiles in the garage workshop were burned. Most of the carriages in the warehouse were saved. The flames threatened other property in the neighborhood but the department by hard work succeeded in preventing the further spread of the fire.
