"Designing Fire Protection for Steel Beams," a 28-page guide from American Iron and Steel Institute, is intended to supplement specifications for fire resistance ratings issued by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. The guide includes the UL/AISI beam substitution equation and 18 figures and tables that illustrate and provide data on achieving optimum fire resistance in protected steel beams.
