OWING to the difficulty that Utica might have in entertaining at the same time the many persons drawn there by the races and the New York State Firemen’s Convention, both occurring at the same time, the president and executive committee of the Firemen’s Association will be consulted with a view to securing a change in the date of the convention to a week earlier or later.
THE Firemen’s Exchange of the Massachusetts State Firemen’s Association is fitting up a suite of rooms at No. 242 Washington street, Boston, for the permanent exhibition of fire apparatus, for reading apartments, private rooms, etc., for the use of firemen stopping at Boston. The chief mover in organizing the Exchange was the secretary of the association, and he has charge of the undertaking.
