C. E. BOWERS, heretofore representing FIRE AND WATER at Chicago, has ceased to be our agent, and is no longer authorized to transact business for the company. Announcement of his successor will be made at an early day.
IT is rumored in the fire department that Captain Lalor of Engine Company No. 13 is to be the recipient at the coming presentation of the Stevenson medal, which is given to the best disciplined company in the department. It is further rumored that the Bennett medal will not be presented this year, there having been no instance of special personal bravery exhibited during the year to warrant the giving of the medal.
