THREE BIG PLANTS RAZED BY FIRE IN FARMINGTON, N. M.
Durango, Colo.—The business section of Farmington, N. M., was swept by fire recently. The ice plant, flour mill and light plant, were totally destroyed and several other buildings badly damaged before the fire was checked. The loss is estimated at between $30,000 and $50,000. The burned buildings will be rebuilt immediately. In the meantime the town is in darkness and without ice except for that sent from Durango.
At one time the fire appeared to have gotten beyond control, and fear was felt for the safety of the entire business section. It was only through the heroic work of practically every able-bodied man in the town that the fire was kept from spreading.
