THE STANDPIPE FOR GREENVILLE.

The Chicago Bridge and Iron Works of Chicago has been awarded a contract for a standpipe at Greenville. Ill., of 50,000-gals, capacity. Its cost will be $3,780. This firm has constructed a large number of standpipes and tanks for water service during the past year, and they have given general satisfaction wherever installed. The Greenville tower will be 100 ft. high and the tank of the usual cylindrical form at the bottom giving great strength and durability. The substructure will be of cement, and a ladder connection will be made on the top of the tower.

The proposed waterworks system at Homer, La., will be installed at a cost of $40,000.
