THE LANHAM MANOGRAPH

A Recording Pitot Tube Meter—Its Use Indicated in Measuring Flow of Water Through Mains of Distributing Systems, Discharge Mains of Pumps, and All Forms of Conduits Carrying Pressure

The Manograph is a recording pitot tube meter used for the measuring of flow of water through the mains of distributing systems of city water works, discharge mains of pumps and all other forms of conduits carrying water pressure. It was devised a number of years ago by Paul Lanham in connection with the campaign against water waste in the city of Washington, D. C. Since its introduction about seven years ago nearly forty million gallons daily waste in underground leakage has been stopped by its exclusive use by the waste prevention engineers of the water survey division of that city. It continues in use today and an underground leakage totalling over one million gallons daily has been found and prevented in the same city since July 1, 1918.
