THE FIREMEN AT SARATOGA, N. Y.

At the recent meeting of the Tri-County Firemen's Association held at Saratoga, N. Y., under the presidency of R. Mingay, Jr., Village President C. H. Sturges welcomed the delegates and President Mingay responded.

James A. Holden, of Glens Falls, statistician of the association, gave a history of the organization from the first— the idea of founding which originated with Martin Feeley, of Whitehall, in January, 1895, its first convention and tournament being held at Glens Falls the July following. At the election of officers, pn the nomination Of John J. Edwards, of Fort Edward, James A. Holden, of Glens halls, was chosen president for 1896-97, the other officers elected being as follows: Vice-presidents, George F.Ashton,Fort Edward; Ralph Russell, of Schuylervillc, and J. Henry Feeney, of Glens Falls; secretary, Charles M. Hotchkiss, of Whitehall; treasurer, John J, Morgan, Fort Edward; executive committee, Clifford W. Higley, Sandy Hill; W. O'. Capron, Glens Falls; Wm. S. Ostrander,Schuylerville; statistician, W. R. Bullard, Glens Falls. Whitehall was fixed upon as the next place of meeting.
