TEST OF STEAMER AT READING.
On August 8 tests of a second-size Nott fire engine, of the piston-valve pattern, with spiral water-tube boiler, were made at Reading, Pa., under the supervision of Chief George Miller, the members of the board of fire commissioners, and mechanical experts of the city. The tests were considered satisfactory, as will be seen by the following figures. After three and a half hours’ trial, the engine was accepted and placed in commission.
