TEST OF METROPOLITAN ENGINE.
The American-La France Fire Engine company delivered a second-size Metropolitan engine to the village of Larchmont, N. Y., on Saturday last. Among the visitors present to witness the test were Chief Ross, Commissioners Titus and Peck and Engineer Bell, of New Rochelle. Commissioners Murray and Readett, of Hartford, Conn., Commissioners Bullard, Strong, Scheitenger and Kearns, of Bridgeport, Conn. The engine was in charge of Charles E. Wessell, delivering engineer, and Andrew Jersey, the company’s agent, and was run under the supervision of Trustees De Lima and Bronson, of Larchmont, the latter acting as scorekeeper. The following are the official figures:
