South Carolina Firefighters Injured When Apparatus Overturns

Three firefighters were injured when an apparatus overturned while responding to a house fire in Pickens County, South Carolina.

Arson investigators are probing the fire in Pumpkintown, which consumed almost the entire home, according to a FOX Carolina report (http://bit.ly/1dhdyww).

A Pumpkintown Volunteer Fire Department tanker truck was headed to a structure fire about 1.5 miles away when it overturned along a curve, injuring three firefighters. One firefighter was entrapped and had to be rescued from inside.

The 2,000-gallon tanker truck is a total loss. The truck was the main tanker for the volunteer fire department, so nearby fire departments will be on stand-by to serve as back-up should a major fire occur.
