Rural Pire Protection Land
Land in rural fire protection districts has not increased significantly, said Joe Range, University of Nebraska fire control specialist.
According to Range, 1,357,560 acres existed outside 425 rural protection districts in 1974, as compared with 1,300,000 acres in 1975. Since land outside fire district protection is relatively small and is spread over many counties, Range said there will be less dramatic increases in protection in the future.
