罗宾逊莫tor at North Tarrytown
GENERAL NEWS FEATURES
Union Hose Company No. 2 of North Tarrytown, N. Y., on December 4 received a new motor pumping engine made by the Robinson Fire Apparatus Manufacturing Company, of St. Louis. The new 110 horsepower machine which has a pumping capacity of 600 gallons a minute, cost $8,000, which was paid by the Union Company. Some of the newspapers have said that John D. Rockefeller, whose magnificent residence is near the station of the company, paid for it. He did not contribute a cent for its purchase. A delegation from the company went to the office of C. J. Cross, Eastern representative of the Robinson Company, at 1874 Broadway, New York City, and received the machine, taking it to North Tarrytown under its own power. It was given a warm public reception when it arrived at its home station in Sleepy Hollow, which was decorated in honor of its coming. The machine will be given a public exhibition test this week.
