N. E. W. W. A. Takes Action on Attempt of Internal Revenue Bureau to Collect Back Taxes from Municipal Employees—Claimed to be Exempt
THE New England Water Works Association, in co-operation with the American Water Works Association and other interested bodies, has taken vigorous action looking to the relieving of the situation created by a decision of the United States Internal Revenue Bureau in deciding that the salaries of employees of municipally owned water works are taxable under the Internal Revenue Act.
