There were reports of shots fired at a fire scene yesterday in New York state, a situation that hearkened back to the fatal shooting of twoWest Webster firefighterson Christmas Eve last year.
In this case, though, the shots were apparently ammunition set off by the heat of the fire, which occurred in a two-story house surrounded by woods in Shokan, according to the Times Herald Record (http://bit.ly/108VVbc).
A man in his late 40s reportedly set a fire that destroyed a barn before committing suicide. Because of the shots on scene and the apprehension of an"active shooter"on the property, firefighters and law enforcement personnel stayed back.
