OBITUARY.

It is with the deepest regret that FIRE AND WATER records the death of Mrs. Dow R. Gwinn, (nee Bessie D. Duff), wife of Dow R. Gwinn, president of the Waterworks company of Terre Haute, Ind., and till recently superintendent of the waterworks at Quincy. Ill., the birthplace, and for the greater part f her life the residence of his deceased wife. Mrs. GIwinn, who was well known to many of the readers of FIRE AND WATER, was of a warm and generous disposition, bright and cheerful in her nature, a loving mother and a fond and faithful wife. She leaves behind her a husband, four children—one of them literally an “infant of days”—and a large circle of friends, whose presence at her funeral at the church of the Good Shepherd, Quincy, showed the high esteem in which they held her. To her bereaved husband and family FIRE AND WATER tenders the assurance of its deepest sympathy.
