OBITUARY.
S. Howland Robbins, a veteran of the Civil war, died on Wednesday in the Presbyterian hospital in this city. In May 1899 Mayor Grant appointed Mr. Robbins fire commissioner to succeed Richard Croker. In 1893 he was elected president of the commission. In the same year be retired, but was reappointed by Mayor Gilroy in February, 1894. Mr. Robbins was sixty-one years of age at his death.
