Notes from Pittsfield.

[From Our Own Correspondent.]

PITTSFIELD, MASS., April 19.—At the annual town meeting, held April 7, a motion to appropriate $16,000 to build a house for Engine Company No. 2, “G. Y. Learned's;” Truck No. 1, "Greylock’s,” and Protective Company No. 7 was lost by a vote of 119 to 116. The double house, the quarters of the organization first named, is in bad condition, and the last named company uses as a company room, by courtesy, the chief’s office.
