Newburgh, N. Y., Fire Report
According to Chief O’Brien’s annual report to the city of New burgh, N. Y., the per capita loss for 1919 amounted to only about one dollar, as the fire loss for the year was $33,938 and the population is estimated at about 34,000. There were 74 alarms, of which four were false. Thirty-three were box alarms and the others were telephone calls, to which only a part of the department responded. The loss exceeded $1,000 in but five of the 74 alarms.
