New Fire Station for Charlotte
Purchase of a lot for $3,500 adjacent to Charlotte's (N.C.) Dilworth fire station on South Boulevard has been authorized by the City Council. The lot will be added to the site of the Dilworth station property, making a large area for the erection of a new station as soon as war conditions and priorities permit building of same. The present Dilworth station, oldest of the Charlotte Fire Department's system of stations, will be razed to make room for a modern station. The Dilworth station was built in the days of horse-drawn fire equipment, and is outmoded by many years.
