New Fire Alarm System for Wichita, Kan.

The city of Wichita, Kan., recently awarded a contract to the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company for a 12-circuit automatic fire alarm system, according to information received from A. S. Brownewell, fire marshal. A 15-inch gong and punching register will be installed in each of the fire stations, the water works and electric light plant, and an additional gong on a secondary circuit, so that every station will receive its alarms over two circuits simultaneously. A fireproof building is to he erected just behind the central fire station, and in this building will he installed the central fire alarm apparatus and the P. B. X. switchboard. Each station will be connected with this switchboard through the telephone exchange and will have a telephone set to be used over the fire alarm circuit in case the regular telephone is out of commission. The system is complete in every respect.
