Mutual Aid Used in $2.4 Million Ohio Prison Fire

A decision to try to cut off a fire in the industries area of the Lebanon Correctional Institution was carried to a successful conclusion by Warren County, Ohio, fire fighters despite the difficulty of hooking up to snowblocked hydrants and a drop in water pressure when a 6-inch pipe feeding a standpipe was broken by a collapsing roof.

A mutual aid call brought the total number of apparatus at the $2.4 million fire to 16 engines, two foam units, one aerial truck and four ambulances. There were 142 firemen on the job.
