Must Stop Racing with Fire Engines
Efforts are to be made in Milwaukee, Wis., to prevent some of the many accidents that have been recorded because drivers of automobiles and other vehicles race with fire apparatus while the latter respond to fire alarm calls.
Chief T. A. Clancy of the fire department has decided that some drastic action is necessary to prevent the increasing danger because of collisions between autos or other vehicles and fire department apparatus, and promises that arrests will be made. An ordinance governing the subject, passed December 3, 1917, reads as follows:
