Fairfield County Chiefs Meet
Professor Howard Dietrich of Yale University was the speaker at the March meeting of the Fairfield County Fire Chiefs' Emergency Plan held at the Southport Firehouse in Fairfield. Conn, on March 25th. 1942.
Professor Dietrich discussed the chemistry of fire relative to fires caused by incendiary bombs and demonstrated phosphate, thermite and magnesium bombs, as well as so-called calling cards and sabotage pencils. He also mixed and demonstrated the reactions of soda and acid extinguishers and foam extinguishers, when put into use at fires.
