Minnesota Establishes Center for Education and Research
A center for fire department education and research information has been established by the University of Minnesota. Hailed as the first of its kind in the nation, the center is giving priority to developing fire service courses for the junior college fire protection associate degree program in Minnesota.
The Fire Service Education and Research Information Center, which was organized last August 15, is expected eventually to have a wide range of responsibilities. Research activities will include fire suppression and prevention and fire department administration. Work done elsewhere will be made available through the new center to fulfill the needs of the state’s fire service in the fields of education and training.
