JERSEY CITY WATER CONTRACT.

P. H. Flynn, of the boroughof Brooklyn, N. Y., who in February last was the lowest bidder fora 50,000,000 up to 70,000,000-gallon daily supply of water for Jersey City, at a price too high to suit Mayor IIoos, was the only bidder last week in answer to the advertisement for new bids.

Mr. Flynn’s figures were as follows: Source of supply Rockaway river at old Boonton, one large reservoir, area of watershed 122 1-2 square miles, water to be delivered by gravity to Jersey City, for a plant capable of delivering 50,000,000 gallons daily, $7,395,000. If bought in five, ten, or fifteen years the price will be $7,995,000. Fora 70,000.000-gallon supply, for the completed plant, $8,745 000. If on a five, ten. or fifteen year basis, $9 245,000, The price of water, from 45,000,000 to 70,000,000 of gallons daily will be $20 per million gallons.
