Industrial Chiefs Organization Moves Forward
Elsewhere in these pages is a short report of a recent meeting in Columbus, Ohio, of industrial fire officials. The purpose of this get-together was to explore means of forming a National Association of Industrial Fire Chiefs to be affiliated with the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Presence of leaders of this movement from 8 southern, eastern and midwestern states attests to its importance.
Seriousness of purpose marked this exploratory meeting from its beginning. At its conclusion all present were in agreement that such an organization was needed and its rightful place was in the IAFC. As a result, this group named several committees to further develop the thinking expressed and to lay groundwork for smooth formation of the association.
