Increase in Meter Users at Fairmont, W. Va.

When Director J. Clyde Morris took charge of the water works of Fairmont, West Va., on July 1, 1919, there were 1,585 consumers using water meters. In June 30 of this year there were 3,041 water consumers using meters. The flat rate consumers when Mr. Morris took charge numbered 2,200; at the end of the fiscal year there were 1,630 flat rate consumers. The total number of consumers on July 1, 1919, was 3,785 and on June 30, 1923, the number was 4,671, an increase of 886 consumers.

The cost of improvements in the water department for the past four years totaled $123,953.40. The greater part of this sum was expended on the water mains.
