Hultman Named Boston Fire Commissioner

On June 15, Mayor Malcolm K. Nichols, of Boston, appointed Eugene C. Hultman as fire commissioner. The salary is $7,500 a year.

Hultman has been serving as chairman of the state commission on the necessaries of life. He is 49 years old and a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was vicepresident of the West End Street Railway at the time of its merger with the Boston Elevated System. He served as representative and senator from Quincy, Mass., and in 1920 was appointed emergency fuel administrator.
