His Last Fire.
Robert A. Knudsen, after being found insane by a lunacy commission, was sent to the State Insane Asylum at Matteawan, N. Y., a short time ago. Knudsen, who was employed as a flagman on the Long Island railroad at Ozone Park, confessed that he had caused a dozen or more fires near that place. In a letter to Charles Singer, Knudsen said he wanted to drive all of the Jews and Italians from Ozone Park. While awaiting trial in the Queens county jail, Knudson spent his nights in imitating a fire engine whistle and yelling “fire!” to the terror of other prisoners.
