First Convention New England Chiefs Big Success

Two Hundred in Attendance at Bridgeport Convention New England Association of Fire Chiefs—Very Important Matters Taken Up

WITH an attendance of close to two hundred, the majority of which were chiefs, the first annual convention of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs held at Bridgeport, Conn., June 20-22 went over the top with flying colors—a grand success from every standpoint. “Business first” was the slogan of the meeting, and even though the weather man put the chiefs to a heat resistance test, sizzling to the time of 90 to 95 degrees in the shade, they took off their coats and collars, rolled up their sleeves and went through the elaborate program with a business-like determination and a spirit of enthusiasm seldom seen at similar gatherings. Every session was not only well attended but the array of interesting and instructive papers presented brought forth plenty of “peppy” discussion.
