Fire Fighting Stressed At 3-Day Seminar In Alexandria, Va.

Firemanics, leadership and training, but especially firemanics, were the subjects covered in a three-day seminar conducted by Edward P. McAniff, director of fire science programs, Delehantv Institute, New York, for the annual Virginia Institute for Fire Department Officers, May 5-7.

The seminar at Alexandria, Va., was conducted exclusively by McAniff and his team, which included instructors from his staff in New York and William E. Clark, director of fire protection, Prince Georges County, Md. According to McAniff, who is a former chief of department of the New York City Fire Department, the seminar was conducted as an experiment to see not only how well it would be received but also to explore the possibility of conducting such seminars around the country.
