Fire Apparatus Wins First Prize in Parade
在游行in connection with the Labor Day celebration in Canton, N. C., the triple combination pumper of the fire department won the first prize for the best decorated piece in the parade. The scheme of decoration, as will be seen by reference to the illustration herewith, which was furnished through the courtesy of Chief C. L. Westmoreland, of the fire department, was that of the dahlia, the apparatus being covered with this flower with the letters C. F. D. in dahlias surmounting the decorations. The illustration shows the members of the fire department in the white uniforms which they wore during the parade.
