Eggertsville Fire Hall Burns

An early morning fire at the Eggertsville, N. Y., Hose Co., caused damage estimated at $10,000. Volunteer and regular firemen throughout Western New York know the Eggertsville group to be one of the most alert outfits in the area.

Five firemen were asleep on the second floor of the fire hall when the fire was discovered at 6:45 a.m. in the basement kitchen. A short circuit may have been the cause. Chief Joseph Blackburn said the first floor of the two-story building on Main St. between Bailey Ave. and Eggert Rd. was damaged by smoke.
