EFFECT OF ELECTROLYSIS ON PIPES
Discussion at the Meeting of the New York Section of the American Water Works Association.
The second meeting of the New York Section of the American Water Works Association for this season was held last Wednesday, at the Hotel Astor, New York. Luncheon was first served after which Chairman Allen Hazen called the meeting to order. He pointed out that the attendance was the best that the local section has had at any meeting up to date. Mr. Hazen called upon J. H. Purdy, President of the Pennsylvania Water Works Association, to say a few words in regard to his organization. Mr. Purdy, he said, was president of a Water Works Association, built along different lines than that of the American Water Works Associaton. In his description of the Pennsylvania Water Works Association Mr. Purdy said that it was the aim of that Association to stem the tide of destruction of privately owned systems in that state. The American Water Works Association is built along different lines as the Pennsylvania Association is composed only of private water companies.
