EDUCATION AS A FOUNDATION FOR A REPUTATION.

AT the October convention of the National Firemen’s Association of the United States,held at East St.Louis,Ill., Mr.W. C. Campbell, editor and proprietor of the Harlan, Iowa, Tribune—read the following response to the query set down to be answered before the members. The question was: “Is education the only foundation upon which a master may erect a reputation as a scientific and skilled workman ? If this is built, will the work of his judgment be symmetrical and unique; and, when he is so educated, are the results accom plished great and obtained by the least possible expenditure of money ?’’
