Dynamite in Fire at Rushton, La.
A railroad freight depot at Rushton, La., was struck by lightning and destroyed by fire a short time ago. The building was of frame construction 30 x 150 feet, with a tar paper roof, and was wholly in flames when the fire department arrived. There was considerable dynamite in the building and the firemen were kept at safe distance. It did not explode. The loss was about $8,000.
Engineer John McWilliams, of Engine 16. Cleveland, O.. the oldest member of the department, recently retired after 42 years of service. The members of Engine Company 16 held a farewell reception in his honor.
