Cincinnati and Her Waste of Water.
WILLIS P. THORP, superintendent of the Cincinnati water-works, evidently appreciates the position he occupies. It is to be hoped that the Board of Administration have sufficient sense and judgment to heed his recommendation concerning the adoption of meters to suppress waste of water in general distribution.
Mr. Thorp in his report touches upon all points concerning waste of water in Cincinnati, and they are the same as found upon investigation in all cities where water is used ad libitum. He is somewhat severe in his expressions concerning the public indifference and wilfulness in the matter of waste of water.
