Chief Murphy Enters the Industrial Field
The Eliel & Loib Company of Chicago, which corporation handles the insurance lines of Sears, Roebuck & Co., all over the country, announce that the latter concern's new warehouses at Philadelphia are receiving merchandise and that Sears, Roebuck & Co. have secured the services of Chief Murphy of the Philadelphia fire department as chief of their private fire department.
Chief Murphy has been chief engineer of the Philadelphia department for a number of years and is considered a very capable officer. Sears, Roebuck & Co. are much interested in fire prevention. Ex-Fire Chief Holmes, formerly head of the Evanston, Illinois department, has charge of fire prevention and is chief of the fire department of the Chicago plant.
