Capt. Wolfer of Salvage Corps, Dead
Captain Chris Wolfer, superintendent of the Salvage Corps in Urbana. Ohio, died from the effect of inhaling hydrofluoric or sulphuric acid fumes at a fire in a chemical laboratory. Four other members of the corps were affected, but they were able to return to work.
Other members of the service who worked with Wolfer stated the direct cause of his death was that he returned to the building to open windows to save others front inhaling the dangerous fumes.
