BUILDING FIRE TRAPS.
Constant and open violation of the building ordinances of Tacoma, Wash., is seen in the erection of veritable fire traps in the business portion of the city. The old ordinance is practically a dead letter, from the fact that it is so full of flaws that it cannot be enforced. The courts have declared it illegal, and for this reason it is deemed useless attempt to enforce it. A new ordinance has been drawn, and as soon as it becomes a law special attention wilt be given to enforcing it.
Paterson, N. J.,board of aldermen have repealed the ordinance providing for the annual inspection of the fire department.
