Brown Scientific Inner Tube

Brown Scientific Inner Tube

This tube, which is used extensively in pneumatic tires subject to severe treatment, has proved that a pneumatic tire may be made punctureless and do away with blow-outs. A large number of fillers and semi-solid tires have been patented, but they have drawbacks which prevent their more general use. The Brown scientific inner tube is an inner tube filled with air only, and it will not deflate when punctured. Due to this fact the tube is made much more substantial than the ordinary inner tube and is practically an inner shoe. It has other features besides the punctureclosing to add to its merits. The fear of puncture is entirely removed; the fear of blow-out is practically eliminated, and the great strength of the tread portion makes it virtually an inner shoe, and the casing or outer shoe, can be worn out without fear of blow-outs.

Edward F. Croker, past chief of the New York fire department, has written a strong endorsement of the Brown inner tubes to C. J. Cross & Company, 1878 Broadway. New York, sale agents for them. He says: “The Brown scientific inner tubes which you sold me, I think are the greatest I ever saw, and you may enter my order for two more, so that I may have my car fully equipped with the Brown scientific tubes. I have now tested out the two 10 x 4 tubes you sold me about a month ago, and I have punctured them purposely several times in order to prove that the tires will hold air, even when punctured.”
