BROOKLYN’S WATER SUPPLY.
James Moffatt, Deputy-Commissioner of Water Supply for the Borough of Brooklyn, has sent a long communication to Borough President Grout, and urged him to spare no effort toward getting a large enough appropriation passed to increase the water supply of the borough. Mr. Moffatt gives figures to show that the net income from the Water Department of the borough for 1898 will be $445,820.56. This, he shows, would justify an additional issue of $3,940,000 of bonds.
Mr. Moffatt gives a list of improvements needed, that such an issue of bonds would just cover. But he cites the following as most needed:
