The last report received by the minister of public Works concerning the various bores that are being put down in search of water at various points along the state line as follows: San Cristobal (Santa Fe), depth 1,243 meters; from the depth of 1,176 meters the bore passes through a hard sandstone alternated with strata of soft material. Tostado (Santa Fe), depth 1,108 meters; at the depth of 1,100 meters the seventh level of surging was struck, but as it is very salty has been piped off. Mojotoro, ninth bore, depth 1,420 meters. Pisco Yacu. kilometer 181. F. C. P.. Province San Luis, depth 74 1/2 meters; the soil now being traversed is clay with indication of lime, with mica, sand and quartz. Cotagaita (Cordoba), depth 56 meters; Guemez (Salta). at the depth of 42 meters the first level of water was struck which was sweet and abundant with a piezometric level of 36 meters. (Geological experts from the United States have been in Argentina for a couple of years conducting water supply investigations.)
