The Board of Directors of the International Association of Fire Engineers Complete Arrangements for the Big Meeting the Last Week in August—More Time to be Allowed for Inspection of Apparatus and Appliances Test for Pumpers—Trip to Newport Among the Attractions—The Crown Hotel Selected as Headquarters— The City is Prepared to Give Visitors a Most Enjoyable Time.
For three days last week the Board of Directors and other officers and members of the International Association of Fire Engineers, worked earnestly to complete a program that will make the Providence convention, to be held the last week in August, next, one long to be remembered on account of its excellence both as to the papers to be read and discussed, and the social features which are amply provided for by the Board of Commerce of that city. The meetings of the committee were held in the office of Chief Reuben D. Weeks at fire headquarters and were attended by the following:
