WITH THE RATHER dismal showing of Minnesota’s football team this past season, it would appear that at least one of the Big 10 schools is enjoying a return to intellectual pursuits. Which is as snide a way as this Northwestern University grad can think of to lead into a quest by the University of Minnesota’s Richard L. Heath for material to complete his thesis for a PhD in history.
