Allentown, Pa., Buys Water Works
The city of Allentown, Pa., by the passing of a bill on second and final readings at a session of the council, has been authorized to purchase the portion of the Bethlehem Water Company’s plant in the 14th Ward and the city will come into possession of the property by July 1. the sum to be paid being $21,000. J. D. Brodhead, attorney for the Bethlehem Water Company, acknowledged the receipt of the proposed ordinance relative to the purchase of the property in the 14th ward, and stated that the ordinance was in accord with the agreement they had arrived at in the office of the Solicitor.
