The survey committee offers these statistics: Heating department— Number of inspections, 9,453; heating apparatus found unsafe, 1,409; heating apparatus found safe, 604; heating apparatus corrected, 804. Storage stores —Number of inspections, 3.266; defects found and corrected, 480. Electric department—Inspections for new installations, 7,890; inspections for changes, 22,778; reinspections, 27,696; corrections secured during year, 4,135. Sprinkler department—Certificates issued, nineteen; sprinkler inspections, 3,211; defects found and corrected, 375. Fire alarms—Certificates issued, 247; reinspections, forty-eight. Inspection department—Number of surveys. 14,243; reinspections for corrections. 2,422—total inspections, 01,254.
