Dear Sir:—Permit me to thank you for your kind and full abstract of my paper on the “Quality of Water Supplies.” I feel that this question should be kept before the people until they realize their danger, and takesteps to meet it. From typhoid fever alone we are now losing annually 35,000 lives and from other fevers showing typhoid symptoms quite 15,000 more or annually we are losing in this country alone a city of 50,000 people with no serious effort on the part of municipal corporations to check the disease.
