A Practical Running Card
The Bland Adjustable Display Frame Company’s running card is a simple system of determining the location of a fire in shorter time than was possible under the old system. The new device is a great improvement over the old single card manner of determining the location of fires and when installed will save the city a considerable sum of money in printing bill. The running card, which is operated on the principle of a ledger, is calculated to save time in the finding of the fire and will take up much less space in the fire house. The device consists of as many metal frames as the citv may require, each with a metal tab. The frame is so constructed that they will hold twe cards measuring 18 by 20 inches. On these are printed the location of the different fire alarm boxes and by means of the indexed metal tab at the side of same the location of a fire can be determined in an instant from the district. There is not only a saving of money but also a saving of fire loss, as the time saved in determining the location of a fire by the new method will be enough many times over to check a blaze before it gains great headway.
